Fury targets Klitschko not Joshua

Promoter Frank Warren has said that media reports today of plans to make a fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are both inaccurate and wide of the mark.

Fury defeated Chisora, for the second time, last Saturday night at the ExCeL London to win the British, European and WBO International Heavyweight titles, whilst securing the mandatory challenger position to Wladimir Klitschko’s WBO World title.

Fury moves into mandatory contender position for Klitschko’s WBO World Heavyweight title

Tyson Fury moved into the mandatory contender position for Wladimir Klitschko’s WBO World Heavyweight title with his victory over Dereck Chisora last night at the ExCeL London.

The Manchester ace took his undefeated record to 23 wins when he forced Chisora to retire in the tenth round with a dominant performance to earn his shot at the long reigning Ukrainian king.

It was the second time Fury defeated Chisora following his points win in July 2011 and it was a much better performance from the giant traveller this time around.

Joshua: Klitschko sparring has me firing for Manchester debut

Anthony Joshua MBE says sparring with Heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko has him fired up for his clash with Konstantin Airich at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

The London 2012 Olympic star spent ten days with the IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO and The Ring title holder and 1996 Olympic champion in Austria ahead of Klitschko’s now-rearranged title defence against Kubrat Pulev.

Joshua has yet to go beyond two rounds in the paid ranks but German-based Kazakh Airich brings a wealth of experience to Lancashire this weekend with 17 KO wins and 153 rounds in the bank – so Joshua expects his time with Klitschko to be invaluable.
